One of the Chinese topmost business groups, Haier, has decided to expand its manufacturing network in Pakistan. "We see the business environment in Pakistan highly favourable," said a company's official while talking to APP here on Tuesday. The Sino-Pak business in home appliance sector was the first joint ventures by the government of China with the private sector in Pakistan with a total investment of 100 million dollars.
The official said that the company was considering to increase its investment in Pakistan this year. Haier, that has become the second largest home appliances company, is not only producing refrigerators and other consumer goods but also has established industrial home appliance standards for the local industry.
The group based in Qingdao, eastern coastal city in Shandong province, topped the "most potential Chinese brands" list published by the Glebors Global Financial Reports of Canada (GGFR) last week.
According to the GGFR, different from common Chinese enterprises, Haier is a global brand, which has been adapting itself to different countries and different cultures.
With more than 30 overseas manufacturing bases, Haier puts forward different products suitable to different consumption styles of different areas.
Founded 20 years ago, Haier is the first Chinese brand to have more than 12 billion-dollar assets. At the beginning of 2004, Haier was listed as the only Chinese name brand among the world's 100 most recognisable brands in a global name brand list edited by the World Brand Laboratory.
