'Foreign investment in Punjab increased'

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in a meeting with a delegation of German investors here on Sunday said that present government policies were in conformity with line to promote foreign investment in the country. The chief minister said that with reorganisation of various departments in the province, a better plying field was now available to foreign investors in the country. 'New mode of management in order to advance development endeavour has been introduced here', he added.
Pervaiz Ellahi said due to efforts of provincial government, foreign investment has gone up in Punjab. Pervaiz averring on the great scope of processing and packaging of fruit and vegetable here said that there was large scope of export of these commodities.
Leader of German delegation Dr Hanz Joschin Korber speaking on the occasion said that his company was interested in establishing world class departmental stores in Lahore and other cities of Punjab, he added.
Provincial Minister for Commerce Muhammad Ajmal Cheema apprised the delegation of various measures taken by provincial government to promote foreign investment in the country on the occasion.
