Punjab Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal President (MMA) Hafiz Muhammad Idrees speaking at a function at Mansoora here on Sunday urged the Muslims to forge unity in their ranks. He said: "There is no Aurengzeb, Abdullah bin Auf in the ranks of Muslims and the Muslim leadership is involved in practices contradictory to the teachings of Islam."
Idrees averred that the Sunnat-e-Ibrahimi asks us to live our lives according to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). "We have been divided into factions and this has weakened us and hence we are unable to play the role as suggested by our holy prophet (PBUH)," he added.
Hafiz Idrees criticised the role of the rulers for abdicating their responsibilities and said that the MMA would play its due role in restoration of democracy in its true form in the country. A large number of MMA workers were present on the occasion.
