New Zealand beat World XI

24 Jan, 2005

New Zealand skipper Stephen Fleming smashed an whirlwind 106 off just 57 balls in a nine wicket win over a rusty World XI here on Sunday, prompting rival captain Shane Warne to say he had never seen better hitting. The victory was built on a strong New Zealand bowling performance and rash batting by some of the International Cricketers' Associations (FICA) World XI, which restricted the visiting team to just 158 runs.
