Over 100,000 Punjab government employees have applied for the Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation (PGSHF) for getting houses on their retirement. It was revealed in a meeting of the Board of Directors of Punjab Servants Housing Foundation with Punjab Chief Secretary Kamran Rasool in the chair, disclosed an official. Among others who participated included Additional Chief Secretary, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Chairman Planning and Development, Provincial secretaries, Finance, Housing, MD PGSHF and representatives of concerned departments.
It was told in the meeting that 99 percent of the applicants had opted for 10 major cities included Lahore, Multan, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Sargodha and Sialkot while over 48 thousand opted for Lahore only.
The Chief Secretary directed the PGSHF to provide infrastructure on the proposed sites in a minimum time so that the retiring employees could get houses as early as possible.
