Lo and behold! The most prestigious private hospital in Islamabad resorted to collecting the hides of sacrificial animals on this Eid-ul-Azha. Coloured handbills on art paper, issued under the garb of a welfare body of the hospital, sought the donations that, seemingly, would now be an annual feature. A project of Pakistani doctors from the USA, but this hospital now ranks as the most expensive hospital in the capital.
The hospital, registered as a public limited company with its hundreds of consultants and paramedics shareholders, earned a net revenue of Rs 672 million in the year ending on 30th June 2004.
And as if it was not enough they needed the animal hides too!
