Senior political leader Mairaj Muhammad Khan has expressed confidence that the government and the people of Iran would courageously defend their independence and territorial integrity. If United States or its proxy Israel attacked Iran then flames of war would engulf entire Middle East region, in which tens of thousands of innocent people will perish and oil gas installations, industrial physical infrastructure and ports would suffer irreparable damage, he told a meeting of the Karachi Citizens Alliance here on Thursday.
He appealed to all peace-loving people, UN and advanced industrial countries such as Germany, France, Japan, Russia, and China to bring pressure on US so as to prevent such a catastrophe in the region, which a US attack on Iran would entail.
Mairaj Muhammad said that Iran was important, responsible and peaceful member of UN that sought peaceful friendly relations with all countries on the basis of sovereign, equality, even though it was attacked by Iraq at the US behest.
