US MIDDAY: wheat plunges on global supplies

Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures fell to contract lows early in Thursday's session, weighed by signs of strong export competition and plentiful global supplies, traders said. As of 11:13 am CST (1713 GMT), CBOT March wheat was down 5-1/2 cents at $2.89-3/4 after sliding to $2.89, pushing through the previous contract low of $2.92-1/4.
