Egypt appoints new human rights body

Egyptian National Assembly has installed a parliamentary 'watchdog' over the human rights activities with a direct jurisdiction over individual and corporate complaints of the HR violations. A press release issued by the Egyptian Embassy here on Wednesday said the Parliamentary Committee would also look into the existing statutes concerning the HRs and oversee the National Council's work, already in existence.
Issues related to the international HRs and examination of laws, prevailing in other countries in this regard, part form of its mandate.-PR
