People creating sectarian hatred warned

Government has decided to deal people who are creating sectarian hatred with iron hands in order to maintain peace and security during Muharram ul Haram, said Advisor to Chief Minister on Religious Affairs Maulana Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi here on Friday. "Government is committed to protect live, property and honour of the people by using all its efforts and resources and no stone would be left unturned to maintain peace in the province", Maulana Ashrafi said.
While presiding over a special meeting of District Peace Committee. The meeting was attended by Ulema from all shades of opinion and sects, high police and civil officers.
He called upon Ulema to take all possible efforts to maintain peace and harmony during the month of Muharram. "Islam is the religion of peace, tolerance, brotherhood and peaceful co-existence and it teaches a peaceful life with dignity and honour. It is our duty to stop people maligning Islam by terrorist acts", he added.
Terrorists have no religion and they are killers of humanity, he said adding that people should join hands to bring these people to task and make the society a peaceful one.
He said that government in order to maintain peace has took measures and any Khateeb involved in provocative acts would be arrested. He said that any literature creating sectarian hatred would not be allowed and stern action would be taken against press and people found circulating.
He said that people must give government, details of their tenants staying in their houses.
The participants of the meeting adopted a resolution reiterating that Ulema from all shades of opinion would co-operate with government to maintain peace and harmony during the month of Muharram ul Haram. Ulema present in the meeting have reaffirmed that they would never allow anyone to create sectarian hatred in the country.
