World Maritime University honour for Captain Anwar Shah

Ministry of Ports and Shipping Director General (Technical Wing) Captain Anwar Shah has been appointed member of the Board of Governors of the World Maritime University, Malmoa, for two years commencing from January 19, 2005 to January 18 2007. International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Secretary General and World Maritime University Chancellor, E.E.Mitropoulos has appointed him, which has brought honour to the country, being first of a Pakistani as a member of the Board since the inception of the University.
Captain Shah has a vast experience in the maritime field spread over a period of 45 years, in both commercial and technical matters pertaining to the shipping industry. He is already on the IMO experts' panel because of his academic qualifications and experience coupled with his contribution in the IMO matters.
With his elevation to this appointment, it is hoped that he will prove to be an asset to the University and maritime professionals are likely to benefit from his experience.
Captain Shah has been assigned the charge of the Karachi Port Trust's Chairman in addition to his own duties during the absence of the Chairman who is proceeding abroad on official tour from January 31 to February 5. He has assumed the charge and is discharging his duties as KPT Chairman as well.
