China to provide chiller to LDA on subsidised price

01 Feb, 2005

A Chinese company, Broad has agreed to provide a high-quality chiller of 320 tonnes to Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on a subsidised price. A three-member delegation led by the LDA's Secretary Ihsanul Haque visited the company's factory in Changsha in Hunan Province last week for pre-shipping inspection. The chiller will help upgrade the air-conditioning plant of the LDA from its existing capacity of 780 to 1,100 tonnes to meet its growing requirements.
Talking to APP here on Monday, Haque said that the shipping of the chiller would be made within a month time. It will cost about Rs 10 million, that is much below the price prevalent in international market. The maintenance of the chiller would be responsibility of the company under the agreement signed between the two sides.
The Broad Air Conditioning company is the largest absorption chiller manufacturer in the world. The company is a global leader in technological innovation.
It's products are 20-50 percent more energy efficient than other brands, which has reduced the energy-related expenses for thousands of customers.
Haque said that Chinese companies are most dependable for business deals and they are prepared to facilitate further strengthening the existing bonds of friendship.
There is great potential of building strong economic partnership with more and more interaction among the people of the two countries, particularly the business class, he added. He noted that the two countries are enjoying excellent relations at government-to-government level that meet the aspirations and the common desire of their people.
He said Pakistani people are looking forward to the forthcoming visit of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to Pakistan, and hoped it would bring the two countries further closer to each other, particularly in the economic sector.
