Duty drawback on various items reduced

The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has reduced duty drawback rates on the export of items/products exported by 10 leading sectors, including manufacturers of biscuits/candies, clocks, detergent, insulators, shaving blades manufacturers and most of the rates have been slashed on consumers' products exported by these industries. The CBR has issued 10 notifications on Thursday to amend standard SRO.414(I)/2001 and SRO.415(I)/2001.
The duty drawback on the export of sweet plain biscuits will be 3.59 percent of the fob value; sweet cream biscuits, 3.43 percent of the fob value; wafer biscuits, 4.15 percent of the fob value, and duty drawback will be 4.53 percent of the fob value on the export of saltish biscuits.
The DDB on the export of washing powders or detergents will be 3.82 percent of the fob value.
According to another notification, the duty drawback on the export of hard boiled candies, including mentholated drops, milk-based candies, special laminated candies will be 5.90 percent of the fob value, and duty drawback on the export of toffees and chocolate without flour (assorted flavours), including chewable toffees will be 7.88 percent of the fob value.
The CBR has reduced duty drawback on the export of shaving blades made of carbon steel up to 0.88 percent of the fob value; shaving blades made of stainless steel/platinum will be 4.90 percent of the fob value; single blade disposable razor, 3.16 percent of the fob value; twin blade disposal razor, 3.82 percent of the fob value, and duty drawback on the export of twin blade disposable cartridge will be 2.13 percent of the value.
The CBR also reduced duty drawback on the export of quartz clocks to 2.92 percent of the fob value.
The DDB will be 0.9 percent of the value on the export of rubber radiator hoses and rubber hose pipes.
The exporters of plastic erasers made of more than 50 percent content of PVC moulding compound will be 4.60 percent of the fob value.
The duty drawback on the export of high tension and low-tension electrical porcelain insulator and fuse units of all types will be Rs 46.67 per 100 kilogram, and duty drawback on the export of disc insulator for transmission and distribution electrical lines will be 3.71 percent of the fob value.
The extent of duty drawback on the export of eye make-up sticks (Kajal) will be 0.92 percent of the fob value. Whereas, duty drawback on the export of packets for henna powder will be 0.58 percent of the fob value.
The exporters of shoe cream (all colours and pack sizes) will be entitled to claim duty drawback at the rate of 2.35 percent of the fob value.
The DDB on the export of stainless steel utensils and kitchenware will be Rs 2.39 per kilogram. The exporters of box-board printed or unprinted all sorts will claim duty drawback at the rate of 2.60 percent of the fob value.
