IBM to enhance business activities in Pakistan

Expressing satisfaction over the conducive environment for investors, IBM has announced to increase its business activities in Pakistan. The assurance was made by Carlos da Silva, Director Operations, IBM Central Europe, Middle East & Africa during a meeting with Chairman Senate Muhammadmian Soomro here on Thursday. Muhammadmian Soomro informed Carlos that Pakistan is a business friendly country and offers tremendous opportunities to foreign investors.
He said that the government was taking numerous measures with a view to create a sense of greater confidence in the foreign investors.
The chairman Senate enumerated a number of indicators, which reflect the growth of Pakistan's economy and ensuring high return to the investors. Appreciating the role of IBM, Soomro thanked Carlos da Silva for IBM interest and investment in Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Carlos reiterated IBM commitment to Pakistan and said that conducive environment and better infrastructure facilities are available here to invest in IT sector. He lauded the role of the government for promoting Information Technology in the country.
Carlos said that Pakistan is part of the CEMA region, which is the fastest growing region in Europe, Middle East and Africa and added that IBM has invested over five million dollars in business continuity and recovery services centre and printing out tasking in Pakistan. He further stated that IBM is focusing its attention to increase business activities in Pakistan and has set up a resource centre in the country.
