Australian envoy calls on minister

Australian High Commissioner Zoraka Makasi called on Federal Minister for Industries, Production and Special Initiatives Jehangir Khan Tareen here on Thursday and discussed avenues for extending bilateral relations between the two countries. Both agreed to enhance the level of co-operation in the agriculture, livestock and forestry sectors between the two countries. The meeting was followed up of the meeting that took place among Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Federal minister for Industries and Production Jehangir Tareen and Australian Prime Minister John Howard in Davos at World Economic Forum last month.
The Minister while welcoming the Australian High Commissioner informed that his ministry had already taken various special initiatives in the agriculture, forestry and livestock sectors in order to alleviate poverty and unemployment in the country. He asked the High Commissioner to arrange and facilitate the visits of Australian experts to Pakistan in order to make those initiatives more effective and successful.
The Australian High Commissioner appreciated the special initiatives introduced by the present government. She assured the minister of her best to arrange and facilitate the visits of Australian experts to Pakistan.
