Oil and gas co-operation discussed with Russian envoy

Ambassador of the Russian Federation Sergey N.Peskov called on Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Amanullah Khan Jadoon here on Friday and discussed matters pertaining to promoting Pak-Russia co-operation in the oil and gas sector. Secretary Petroleum Ahmad Waqar and officials of the ministry were also present in the meeting.
Jadoon said tremendous potential and opportunities for promoting and exploring the avenues in oil and gas sector existed in Pakistan.
He said Gazprom Company of Russia could co-operate in transnational gas pipeline projects to import gas from the neighbouring countries.
The company could also avail opportunities in oil and gas exploration activities in Pakistan.
According to a handout, the minister invited Russian companies to construct underground oil and gas storage facilities, manufacture CNG compressors dispensers, LPG cylinders, set up coastal refinery and commission the beneficiation upgradation of plant for Dilband iron deposits.
Envoy said both countries could benefit from each others experience in oil and gas for mutual advantage.
He hoped Gazprom and other companies would seize the opportunities in Pakistan's petroleum sector.
