Religious activists on Friday staged a demonstrations throughout the country as a protest against the deletion of column of religion from the Machine Readable Passport (MRP) and to press the authorities for restoration of this column so that non-Muslims could not pose oneself Muslim particularly in abroad.
"We would continue our struggle till the achievement of our objective of restoration of religion column in the passport because Qadianis were deceiving the Muslims in abroad. We would stage demonstrations in all over the country on every Friday," said Maulana Ata-ul-Muhaimin, Central Chief of Majlis Ahrar-i-Islam Pakistan while addressing a demo.
He said that Majlis Ahrar-i-Islam Pakistan and Majlis Tahaffuz Khatam-i-Nabuwat, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam and other religious parties were making joint struggle for this purpose.
Participants were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans in favour of restoration of religion column in the passport, removal of Qadianis from key posts.
