Former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Mohammad Abdul Qayyum Khan has called upon the international community to pressurise India to stop violation of basic human rights in Kashmir and comply with the United Nation (UN) Resolutions.He stated this in a message on the eve of Kashmir Solidarity Day, being celebrated in Pakistan, Azad Kashmir and Kashmiris living elsewhere in the world on February 5, to express solidarity with struggling Kashmiris for their inalienable right to self-determination.
Sardar Qayyum, condemning the Indian forces' atrocities in occupied Kashmir, said that Indian government's attitude had put the entire region into danger.
He called for formulating a clear road map for the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
He said that right of self-determination had been granted to the people of Kashmir by the United Nations Security Council and this should be implemented.
He urged the people of Kashmir all over the world to show complete solidarity with the people of Kashmir for their just cause to self-determination.
Sardar Qayyum said that Pakistan had played a positive role for the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute and offered India for dialogue in this regard, adding that India showing negative response and sabotaging the offer for dialogue with Pakistan to resolve the issue.
Sardar Qayyum said that India, despite state terrorism and use of force, had failed to suppress the endogenous freedom movement launched by the valiant people of Kashmir against Indian subjugation to achieve their birth right to self-determination.
Sardar Qayyum also demanded of India to quit Kashmir and stop gross violations of human right.
He also urged upon the Indian authorities to allow the people of occupied Kashmir to exercise their birth right to self-determination as well as decide about their future destiny.
He expressed the hope that the sacrifices of the people of Kashmir would not go waste and the day is not far off for the dawn of freedom to people of Kashmir.
