Pak-Polish business council to be set up

Dsariusz Wiecaszek, President of Poland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), and Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), have agreed to establish Pakistan-Poland Joint Business Council to promote trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
The agreement was reached during the meeting of both the trades bodies at Federation House here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Dsariusz Wiecaszek said that business community of Poland has very little information about Pakistan's production capabilities.
According to a FPCCI communication, he said that the establishment of proposed Pakistan-Poland Business Council would enable the business communities of both countries to meet frequently and exchange information about trade, existing business opportunities in the two countries.
He said that trade volume between the two countries is low and most of Pakistani products come through third countries.
Saeed said that previously Pakistan used to import machinery from Poland under barter but now that Poland has become member of European Union, opportunities have opened up for enhancing both import and export between the two countries.
