Pakistan Muslim League (N) has flayed the government's decision to increase rates of gas and fuel. Chief Organiser of the PML(N) Overseas, Qaisar Sheikh Ahmed, talking to PPI here on Sunday said this increase of 8 percent in the rates of gas would break the back of the working class people in the country.
He said the government was pursuing anti people policy and was allowing the oil marketing companies cartel to maximise their profits and transfer them out of Pakistan at the cost of the common man.
The poor people were still grappling with this increase when they have been burden with the enhancement of rates of gas, said the PML(N) leader.
Petrol prices were raised by Rs two per litre, Kerosene oil by Rs one, light diesel oil by Rs 1.41. These increases had a crippling effect on the budget of the common man for whom transportation and items of daily use in the kitchen registered a tremendous increase, he said.
Qaisar Sheikh opined that Shaukat Aziz led government, which represents a few big business houses, was working to frame policies in order for them to reap huge profits while the common man is hand to mouth.
