Director General Meteorological Department Dr Qamar-uz-Zaman on Monday advised the authorities to make proper arrangements to face any emergency-like situation, as the present rains and snowfall spell was expected to continue for next few days. Talking to PTV, the Director General Meteorological said that the present winter spell was expected to continue for next few days, in which intensive rains and snowfall was expected across the country.
Dr Qamar-uz-Zaman said that heavy snowfall was also expected in hilly areas and people were advised to avoid journeys in the mountainous area, as there were chances of blockage of more roads due to heavy snowfall.
After two days, he said, the continuation of rains is expected to spread in the southern Balochistan and Sindh.
"While Balochistan and Sindh provinces will come under another wet spell in the next 48 hours and Islamabad, Punjab, NWFP, and Kashmir will remain in the grip of a wet spell and snowfall during the next five days," he added.
