Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz will meet the newly reconstituted board of directors of Pakistan Steel Mills at the Prime Minister House here on Thursday, official sources told Business Recorder here on Wednesday. The new members of the PSM board of directors include Major General Abdul Qayyum (Retd), Chairman, Mohammad Ramzan Bhatti, member CBR, Syed Zaheer Ali Shah, Additional Secretary Industries, Tauqir Ahmad, Additional Secretary Finance, Arifa Sabuhi, Joint Secretary, DG Privatisation, Abdur Razak Dawood, Chairman, Engineer Development Board, Tariq S. Sehgal, Chairman, Kohinoor, Maple Leaf, Major General Mohammad Javed, Chairman, POF, Khwaja Iqbal Hassan, President, NDLC, Zafar Ahmad Khan, Director, Engro and Sohail Wajahat Siddiqui.
The sources said that PSM Chairman Abdul Qayyum would brief the prime minister and new board of directors about the expansion plans of the mills to annually produce three million tonnes of steel.
The prime minister would also be briefed about the ongoing negotiations and level of co-operation with Iran, China, Germany and China in steel production.
