The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) has recovered Rs 13,355 million during the last six months. The line losses of the company were also reduced by 1.2 percent as compared to the previous year. In all, 4,047 pilferage cases were detected and Rs 47.239 million were charged as detection bills, including six FIRs against the pilferers.
In a press release issued here on Wednesday it said that Iesco has provided 38,134 new connections, including 33,206 domestic, 4,778 commercial, 754 industrial, 49 tube-wells and 27 in other categories during the last six months of the current financial year. Iesco Chief Executive Officer Brigadier Shahzad Azam stated this in a meeting.
He also said that 203 transformers of different capacities have been repaired at Iesco reclamation workshop and 4,073 meters were also repaired in Iesco Laboratories (M& T), including 3,342 single phase, 604 three-phase and 127 LT MDI meters.
He also said that 271 schemes have been completed with the estimated cost of Rs 58.264 million, including 15 HT Proposal and 134 LT proposal under Distribution of Power & Energy Loss Reduction Programme.
Similarly, 271 villages have been electrified during the last six months at the cost of Rs 160.096 million, including 63 under Tameer-e-Pakistan Programme, 62 under the prime minister's directive, 44 under Tameer-e-Punjab Programme and 102 under Khushhal Pakistan Programme.-PR
