Chinese and Bangladesh foreign ministers condole over rain devastation

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing on Monday sent a telegram to his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri offering sympathy and condolence to victims in areas stricken by rains and snow. "I believe that under the strong leadership of the Pakistani government, the people in the disaster-stricken areas can surely surmount the natural disasters and rebuild their homes at an early date," Li said.
Bangladesh foreign minister M. Morshed Khan telephoned foreign minister Khurshid M. Kasuri to convey his condolence over the death and destruction caused by recent floods and heavy rains and snow.
The Bangladesh foreign minister requested Kasuri to convey his sympathies to the bereaved families on his behalf and on behalf of the government and people of Bangladesh.
Foreign Minister Kasuri thanked Foreign Minister M. Morshed Khan for his gesture. The two foreign ministers also discussed matters of bilateral interest.
