AIOU convocation on February 24

Sixth convocation (Islamabad chapter) of the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is going to be held on February 24, 2005 in its main campus at Sector H-8, Islamabad. Federal Education Minister Lieutenant General Javed Ashraf (Retd), pro-chancellor of the university will preside over the convocation. The minister will give degrees and gold medals to students (both male and female).
The university had inquired the willingness from all successful students in post-graduate programmes while students of B.Ed with at lest 62 percent, B.Sc., with at lest 60 percent and BA with 55 percent marks were asked to participate for getting their certificates/degree in the convocation.
Invitation letters have been sent to those who have already sent their willingness for participation in the convocation on their postal addresses.
They were advised that their attendance in full dress rehearsal is compulsory which will be held on February 23, 2005 at 10am.
They are directed to report for participation in rehearsal at the convocation counter set up in block no 3 of the university and those who will not attend the rehearsal will not be eligible to participate in the convocation.
Its first phase "Balochistan Chapter" was held on October 27, 2002 in Quetta; second phase "Sindh Chapter" was held on February 25, 2003 in Hyderabad; third phase "NWFP Chapter" was held on May 31, 2003 in Peshawar; and fourth phase "Punjab Chapter" was held on April 20, 2004 in Lahore.
Its fifth phase "Islamabad Chapter" will be held on February 24, 2005.
