The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday put off proceedings for a week in an election petition filed against provincial food minister Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal, as the petitioner's counsel failed to appear before the court. The applicant, Arqam Khan, had approached the court for disqualifying the respondent minister from being member of the parliament, as he was a defaulter of utility bills at the time of last general elections and he had concealed the fact from the returning office while submitting his nomination papers.
