Assessment of rain damages directed

Acting Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Tariq Mehmood Pirzada while presiding over a meeting here on Monday has directed the assistant commissioners, area magistrates, revenue staff and local government officials besides other concerned civic agencies of the federal capital to immediately carry out assessment of damages caused by the recent heavy rains. A control room has also been set up in the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG), Islamabad to facilitate general public. The phone number of control room is 9261504.
The district administration has appealed to the people of rain-affected areas to contact at the above mentioned telephone number to inform them about the damages.
He also instructed the said officials to visit the adjoining villages of Islamabad and submit 'Assessment Report' within a day to launch a comprehensive relief effort for the rain-hit areas.
Chief commissioner asked the ACs and magistrates to timely inform and relocate the residents of those living alongside canals of Simly and Rawal Dams before opening the spill ways to release extra water.
The Islamabad district administration has also decided to establish relief camps in the worst hit areas of Islamabad for providing medicines, edibles, other daily use commodities to the affected people.
