Basant and mobile phone

The recent Basant festival in Lahore was superb. The arrangements were excellent for this mega cultural event. The festival could be used to project a liberal, enlightened and progressive image of Pakistan in the international media. The power outage owing to metal wires for kite flying by some Basant revellers hardly lasted for more than 15 minutes, thanks to the efficient staff of Wapda who worked on almost war footing to restore power.
The other thing, which impressed me most, was the faultless service by Mobilink. My friends, also subscribed to this company's service, and I faced no difficulty in staying connected with my family members back at home in Karachi despite the heavy rain lashing the city and posing a potential threat of disruption to services, including the sensitive cellular.
