US MIDDAY: coffee five-year high on producer selling

New York arabica coffee futures closed at their loftiest prices in five years, buoyed by managed-money funds extending their long positions and limited producer selling, traders said. At the New York Board of Trade, the most-active May arabica contract rose 5.20 cents, or 4.51 percent, to settle at $1.2060 a lb, after dealing from $1.1480 to a new contract high $1.2090.
