'All resources will be utilised to stamp out polio'

The government would utilise all its resources and energies to materialise the dream of a polio free Pakistan, said District Nazim, Raja Tariq Mehboob Kiani here on Thursday. Addressing a high level meeting of the polio committee in the district health office, district Nazim said that measures are being taken to make sure 100 percent polio coverage in the area. "We have attained the target of 99.3 percent coverage during previous anti-polio campaign and in next campaign this record would be enhanced", he added.
He said that the district government would leave no stone unturned to provide polio vaccine to every child during the campaign and make sure the complete eradication of the killer disease from the society. "It is morale and national obligation of the persons in polio teams to work with honesty and give vaccine to every child and help eradicate this disease", he said.
He appealed to the government departments involved in anti-polio drive and general public to join hands for the purpose and help government to make Pakistan a polio free nation. "Children are our future and once we produce healthy children our future would be bright", he added.
Kiani said that he would take stern action against the people showing negligence during the campaign or remain absent from their duties. "I will serve them show cause notices and take action under law against them", he added.
