Army personnel have started flag march in sensitive areas of NWFP during Moharram-ul-Haram, said an Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) press release issued on Thursday. Corps Commander, Lieutenant General Safdar Hussain has also issued special instructions to General Officer Commanding (GOC) Peshawar, Major General Muhammad Akram Shahi and GOC Kohat, Major General Niaz Khattak for maintaining peace in their respective areas.
Peshawar Garrison has also taken special measures to maintain law and order in Peshawar during Moharram while troops have been alerted in some areas.
Directives were issued for constitution of Quick Reaction Force and Control Rooms were set up in all cities and sensitive areas for monitoring. Flag march has been started in Dera Ismail Khan, Kohat, Hangu, Abbotabad and Peshawar.
