National Assembly body approves public compliant bill

The National Assembly standing committee on law, justice and human rights on Thursday approved the draft of proposed Public Compliant Bill, 2005 after making certain amendments. The committee met here under the chairmanship of MNA Rai Mansab Ali Khan in the parliament house this morning to discuss the Public Compliant (Redressal of Grievances) Bill, 2005.
The committee was of the view that the bill would provide a swift mechanism of systematic redressal of public complaints against government institutions and other government agencies by the head of the respective department/agencies, under overall supervision/checking by the courts and wafaqi mohtasib.
The committee had earlier proposed certain amendments, which had duly been incorporated in the bill by the law ministry.
The committee also showed its satisfaction on the measures taken by the Karachi police for rehabilitation and safety of the daughter of deceased Airhostess, Yasmeen Malik.
