Plea against compulsion to wear helmet

A member of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) has approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the decision of the government making it compulsory for the motorcyclists to wear helmet from March 1. The petitioner, M D Tahir contended that no useful objective would be achieved by making wearing of helmet compulsory. Apart from this it would be unnecessary financial burden on the poor people.
He prayed to the court to declare the action of the respondent government as illegal, unconstitutional and without lawful authority.
