Foreign Office Spokesman Masood Khan on Friday said Pakistan would continue pursuing India for a durable solution to the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people. Speaking at a PTV programme, he said Kashmir was the real issue between the two countries and Pakistan's stance in this regard was very clear. He said Pakistan would also continue urging India to end human rights violations in the occupied Kashmir and pay heed to the voice of Kashmiri people.
Masood Khan further said there had been sufficient progress between India and Pakistan in the area of confidence building but the Kashmiris were still kept away from that process.
He said there existed two tracks between India and Pakistan, which included confidence building measures, and dialogue.
The process is moving fast at the confidence building track but on the track of dialogue it is very slow, he added.
He said President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz had urged upon Indian External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh that simultaneous flow of process on both the tracks be ensured to remove the element of uncertainty.
Both the President and Prime Minister also stressed the need for expediting efforts for the resolution of Kashmir issue by showing sincerity, boldness and mutual flexibility.
He said starting of the bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad was a longstanding demand of Kashmiri people who had warmly welcome the Indo-Pak agreement. He said Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz desired to keep the matter of Pak-Iran-India gas pipeline project away from other issues and India had given a signal to separately discuss it.
Masood said the matter of setting up Pakistan's Consulate in Mumbai also came under discussion with Natwar Singh and India had promised to provide government land for that purpose.
