The Bangladeshi taka ended firmer on Monday as a shortage of funds in the banking system pushed up cash rates, dealers said. The taka was quoted at 63.20/63.70 per dollar against 63.20/63.78 on Sunday, a work day in Bangladesh. Call rates ranged between 7.0 percent and 40.0 percent against 8.5 percent and 23.0 percent on Sunday. Most deals were settled between 10 percent and 30 percent, although a foreign bank struck one deal at 7.0 percent.
