Some unidentified terrorists tried to disrupt power supply to Karachi and other areas by damaging the electric tower of 500 KV transmission line. However, people of the area raised alarm and called the Police. "We foiled bid to damage the electric tower of high power transmission line on Tuesday night near Qadarpur bypass, some 25 km east of Multan. They had cut three legs of the tower but they could not cut the fourth leg as people of the area reached there," said DPO Multan Sikandar Hayat.
"We are searching the terrorists," he added. Wapda re-welded the tower on Wednesday.
