PKRC asks government to waive water charges

Pakistan Kissan Rabita Committee (PKRC) has demanded of the government to waive water charges in non-cultivated areas of the country. While addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, representatives of a number of labour as well as growers organisations including Abid Hasan Mantoo, Farooq Tariq, Gul Hasan, Chaudhry Fateh Muhammad and Mehr Abdul Sattar said that rural population of the country must be provided better health and educational facilities.
They were of the view that rural population must be provided employment opportunities on priority basis, apart from clean drinking water facility.
They also expressed grave concern over increasing prices of various agricultural inputs.
Moreover, the meeting finalised arrangements for National Kissan Conference to be held at Toba Tek Singh on March 23.
