Orascom to spend $300 million to upgrade Algeria network

Egyptian mobile phone operator Orascom Telecom will invest $300 million this year to boost network capacity in Algeria, where it is the largest carrier, it said on Sunday. "The money will be used to pay for equipment. We need to extend our network and improve services," Madani Baktache, technical director of Orascom's Algeria unit, told Reuters.
