Japanese grant for sanitation work

Japan is providing Rs 4.8 million ($81,025) to Agha Khan Foundation for improvement of sanitation system in Boshal Hoper, Nagar. Ambassador of Japan Nobuaki Tanaka and Ali Rattansey, vice chairman of the foundation signed the grant agreement here on Tuesday, according to a press release. The project will improve health and environmental conditions at Boshal Hoper of Nagar, one of the oldest historic settlements with 1000 households in Tehsil Nagar-I Gilgit.
Under the project, underground sewerage lines would be laid benefiting around 1000 local residents, especially women and children. The project will also contribute towards preservation of cultural heritage.-PR
