As many as 1868 water courses will be brick-lined in the district under a four-year development programme for agriculture, geared to improve availability of water for irrigation. District Officer Agriculture (extension) talking to newsmen on Thursday said that by June this year, 27 water courses will be brick-lined in all tehsils with a cost of Rs 3.7 million, which will prevent water wastage by 40 percent.
In the current financial year in Nowsheran Virkan (Wazirabad) 26 courses will be lined, 22 in Kamoke and 22 in Gujranwala tehsil.
