US MIDDAY: coffee settles mixed on roaster participation

18 Mar, 2005

New York arabica coffee futures settled mixed Thursday for the second consecutive session, with market players taking a breather from recent heavy volatility, traders and analysts said. "Funds were there, but not with any significant size," said one dealer. "There was some roaster participation here, but I think a lot of people are in a wait-and-see mode," he said.
The New York Board of Trade's benchmark arabica May delivery eased 0.25 cent to settle at $1.3610 per lb., after trading in a range from $1.3530 to $1.3680.
