19 Mar, 2005

A constable of Punjab Constabulary who was involved in motorcycle thefts ran away from the Police Station Lohari Gate. Authorities have suspended the services of a constable on duty. According to details two constables of Punjab Constabulary Iftikhar Ahmed and Shehzad Ahmed were held when police took an action against a notorious motorcycle lifters gang "Abid Commando Gang."
On Thursday, a brother in law of Shehzad reached at police station and he intended to talk to Shehzad separately in a room. When SHO allowed taking out of lock-up he jumped out the police station and ran away. Police authorities have suspended the services of a cop Mukhtar Ahmed and ordered an inquiry against a Sub Inspector Muhammad Ramzan.
It is surprising that DPO Multan Sikandar Hayat told newsmen on March 16 at a press conference that police have arrested Muhammad Abid Commando, ringleader and his accomplice Muhammad Shahid while two cops of Punjab Constabulary Iftikhar & Shehzad are still at large.
