Australian experts' help sought to improve mango yield

Federal Minister for Food Agriculture and Livestock Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan has sought the help of Australian agriculture experts to improve the yield of mango in Pakistan, says a press release here on Friday. Bosan in a meeting with Australian High Commissioner Zorico MeCarthy, who called on him here on Thursday, said that the mango production in the country had been affected for the last few years. He invited the Australian agriculture experts to visit Pakistan to find out the reasons so that the desired yield could be gained, the statement said.
During the meeting, the minister also underlined the need for Australian technical assistance in the livestock sector and sunflower cultivation.
According to a press release, the minister said Pakistan was importing sunflower seed from Australia and needs co-operation in local seed production, sunflower varieties, its sowing and harvesting machinery.
The Australian ambassador assured her country's co-operation in improving the agriculture sector in Pakistan.-PR
