Message from Sindh governor

20 Mar, 2005

I am pleased to see Textile Asia 2005 is being organised once again this year in the city of Karachi. Pakistan, Alhamdolillah produces some of the world's finest textile and garment products, which we need to display to let everyone know and eliminate any doubts regarding the quality of Pakistani products globally. Besides, Pakistan offers huge untapped market for production of state-of-the-art textile products and services through its cheap, skilled English speaking labour.
Several countries have capitalised from similar capacities and are considered as the foremost players in the world today.
We can do the same. The Government of Pakistan has taken a number of initiatives to support the textile industry.
As Pakistan's economic indicators have made an optimistic turn around recently, the foreign investors can therefore be reassured of a stable environment in Pakistan to carry out business.
I ensure full support from the Government of Sindh for such endeavours. I wish the Ministry of Textile Industry, Ministry of Privatisation, Export Promotion Bureau and E-commerce Gateway, Singapore, the organisers of Textile Asia success.
