Indian dairy experts to visit Pakistan

A team of Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which owns Amul brand, will be in Pakistan next month to explore the vast potential of Pakistan's highly unorganised dairy industry. Given the restrictive trade barriers between the two countries, the federation is not even talking of setting up a plant in Pakistan at the moment but is offering its help to develop the Amul pattern of co-operatives there, media reports said on Thursday.
"Despite having per capita more milk than India, Pakistan is forced to import milk powder," GCMMF's officer on special duty R S Khanna, who will lead the delegation in April, said on Wednesday.
