The food-squad of the City District Government Lahore following a raid at a factory seized 2000 kilograms of marmalade of various fruits here on Friday. The squad arrested the factory owners Muhammad Anwar and Zafar Iqbal along with 24 plastic-chemical drums filled with substandard marmalade. In other raids at Wahdat Road, Ferozepur Road, Mughalpura, Canal Road, Daroghawala and Jallo, the squad spoiled 1500 liters of milk, which was being transported in chemical drums.
District Nazim Lahore, Mian Amer Mahmood has directed the authorities concerned to take strict action against those involved in adulteration of eatable items and transportation of milk in chemical drums. Provision of adulteration-free eatable items to the citizens is prime responsibility of the city district government, he added.
