MMA workers freed

Police have released all detained workers of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) after negotiation with the leaders of business community, here on Wednesday night and given a warning that the violation of 144 would not be tolerated. It may, however, be recalled that 22 protestors were detained by the police, while they were distributing handbills among the peoples and were chanting anti-government slogans.
Later, when contacted, local Jamaat-e-Islami Information Secretary Ejaz Ahmad confirmed that the detained 22 MMA workers had been release by the police with a warning that they should not involve themselves in any anti-government demonstration.
