A successful strike on April 2 would prove a referendum against the rulers as people want to get rid of them, and want complete restoration of democracy and democratic institutions, said MNA Muhammad Haneef Abbasi of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) here on Thursday. Talking to newsmen, he said the successful 'million march' in different cities of Pakistan are expression of anger by people against the rulers who have thrown masses into darkness of price-hike and lawlessness.
The general public have no trust in present rulers, who want to change the Islamic identity of Pakistan to please their foreign masters, said Abbasi, adding that the claims to change the Islamic identity of Pakistan would prove just a house of cards. "People of Pakistan love their Islamic identity and would not compromise", he maintained.
He said that these rulers have acted as frontline state against the Islamic government of Taleban and al Qaeda in Afghanistan at America's behest, as America is seeing Islam a threat and wants to crush Islamic element in the world.
Criticising the anti-people policies of the present government, the MMA leader said the government has crushed the purchasing power of the masses by raising the prices of essential commodities. The alarming increase in suicides and crime rates is loudly speaking the intention of the rulers who want to ruin Pakistani people to please their foreign masters, he added.
