I endorse the views expressed by Mrs Salma Asad Rawalpindi, in your paper dated March 18, 2005. As far as COT (carry over transactions) are concerned it is purely speculative business. It attracts all the fake traders who are fond of easy money making without involving the huge sum. Total business of the day is diverted to the future by figures jugglery exhibiting on the Stock Price Board. In fact it does not serve any purpose of the influx of investment aimed at by the government.
The COT ruined the market in the past so such foul business should not be treated as a part of the game played at the stock exchanges of the country and the index should be composed excluding the COT so that the true picture of the investment could be assessed.
