Marble industry suffers due to low voltage

The marble industry is heavily suffering due to low voltage and constant tripping, thus exporters are forced to default on the commitments made to the importers. This has been stated by All Pakistan Marble Industries Association (APMIA) President, Sanaullah Khan, in a letter to the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) Managing Director. He pointed out that the 250 KV low capacity transformer, installed in the area, could not supply the full sanctioned power load of 635 KV.
He, therefore, suggested either the transformer be replaced or additional transformer of 250 KV be installed to alleviate the problems of marble industry.
